Sense Field ‘Fun Never Ends’ ep (2001)

Revelation Records was a unique beast in labels during the early to mid ’90s. They were home to many of my favourite bands (Into Another, Quicksand, Shai Hulud, Iceburn) and wisely aided the careers of several acts I respected but didn’t listen to (Gorilla Biscuits, Orange 9mm, Dag Nasty, Shelter). In addition to great art direction & a wicked sense of era-defining style, Revelation’s catalog evokes a rich history of NYHC legends (Youth Of Today,Underdog,Ignite).

Somewhere in the grand scope of that roster, emotive melodic rockers Sense Field enjoyed a career which incrementally escaped “indie” territory, yet remained a rather obscure and uncelebrated success. While many fans still seem to adore their major label breakthrough ‘Building‘, there was an earlier time when the band was known for little more than their “angelic” vocalist.

You should already own the Sensefield ‘Tonight and Forever’ CD*, but I don’t think it’s fair for you to be without these two non-album essentials (“On Your Own”, “A Fire Inside You”) from the ‘Fun Never Ends’ promo only ep.

*completists shouldn’t overlook their (almost unheard) initial Warner Bros. sessions,Under the Radar‘, which later become ‘T & F’
